Qore – Episode 11 – April 2009

This month’s episode of Qore comes packed with some pretty cool topics. There is a feature on the making of the music in the upcoming Playstation exclusive InFAMOUS, an interview with the guys over at Titan Studios in Seattle about their upcoming PSN game Fat Princess, and a featurette on arty games on the PSN including Linger in Shadows, Pixel Junk Eden, and Flower. Linger in Shadows also comes as a free download with this month’s episode (woo free trophies!).

Oh, and I forgot to mention, this month’s episode is free for everyone.

Qore game vouchers

When Qore first came out I was excited. I thought it would be cool to be able to see developer interviews and get early demos of games that will be coming out in the future. The reality of it is, I was never all that impressed with Qore. There have been several episodes which I’ve really gotten a lot out of, and this month’s Burnout Paradise segment is pretty good. What I’ve been really surprised by recently is all the game vouchers they’ve been emailing me. When I signed up I got Calling All Cars, which was expected. A few weeks ago they emailed me a voucher to download Syphon Filter for the PS1. Then, yesterday I got another voucher for High Velocity Bowling. So far thats like $25 worth of downloadables for a $25 subscription, plus all the demos and video content. Didn’t shake out to be that bad of a deal after all. I may resubscribe at this rate.

Motorstorm Demo – 1 month early*

* For Qore subscribers (or purchasers of that issue). October’s episode of Qore will come with an early demo of Motorstorm Pacific Rift–1 month before it’s PSN debut.

I have seen a few videos of Pacific Rift, and it looks beautiful. Hopefully it will play equally well. I also hope it has steering wheel support so I can break out my rig.

Episode 4 of Qore will be released on October 4th and will be $2.99 for those that haven’t ponied up for a subscription. Episode 4 will also contain features on Little Big Planet, Prince of Persia, and Bioshock.

Resistance 2 Beta Invite in Qore Episode 3

I just got an email from Sony that says in Episode 3 of Qore there will be info on DC Universe, Lego Batman, and the really big one, An invite to the Resistance 2 Beta which it says is scheduled for release in September. Nice. My Qore subscription is looking better and better. The buyer’s remorse is starting to fade with every beta invite and early demo.

Episode 3 of Qore should be hitting PSN on the August 7th.
